Edwin Hawkins will take his rightful place in music history as the man whose inspired choral visions motivated millions to turn their thoughts to matters spiritual by introducing them to the world of gospel. Actually, it was while serving as the organist and choir director for the Ephesians Church of God in Christ in Berkeley, Calif., that a young Hawkins recorded his first “live” album.
Jon White of the Christian EDM Duo, Capital Kings announced on February 23rd via Facebook that he would be stepping away from the group. According to the post, it sounds like Cole Walowac plans to continue on with Capital Kings. Check out the announcement below.

Gospel/Jazz instrumentalist Ben Tankard won his first Stellar Gospel Music Award as New Artist of The Year in 1989. With an incredible career span of three decades, the musical pioneer has earned the title of “Godfather of Gospel Jazz” and earned his fourteenth Stellar Award over the weekend in Las Vegas, NV. Tankard took home the honor for Best Instrumental CD of the Year for his FULL TANK 2.0 album.

Gospel Music legend, Richard Fay “Buck” Rambo, beloved patriarch of the Gospel music family, The Rambos, died, February 21, 2016, at 6:02 PM in Palmetto, FL at the age of 84 surrounded by his loving wife Mae and family members. He was born in Dawson Springs, Kentucky, son of Noah Burton Rambo and Mary Irisilda Rambo. Buck was married to Mae Kutz Rambo on April 1, 1995.
