MacIntyre was born blind and first underwent a kidney transplant at the age of 22 after he was diagnosed with kidney failure in his late teens. As his kidneys began to fail again in 2014, MacIntyre turned to the media to raise awareness about the need for kidney donors and hoped he may find a suitable match for himself.

Actually, it was while serving as the organist and choir director for the Ephesians Church of God in Christ in Berkeley, Calif., that a young Hawkins recorded his first “live” album.

The Green Brothers toured throughout the South in the mid-1950s before the family relocated to Grand Rapids, Mich. There, Green began singing soul music on his own, incorporating gospel and his signature wild moans and wails.

I found myself with more time than usual to evaluate 2015 after breaking my ankle two days before the Dove Awards in October. Needless to say this brought my 2015 year-end to a screeching halt and forced me to slow down in ways I had to embrace. I was riddled with pain and major humility. During this time, I was reminded that I was not defined by this ill-fated mishap nor could I wallow in self-pity or doubt the future.
GMA Gospel Music Hall of Fame Inductee, Joe Moscheo has passed away. Few people associated with Gospel music have had such a diverse and long-standing impact on the industry as Joe. His career, which stretches over 4 decades, has run the gamut from musician to manager to songwriter to producer to author. Through the years he has worked with Elvis Presley, The Imperials, Pat Boone, The Harmoneers, BeBe & CeCe Winans, The Judds and more. Our prayers are with his family during this time.
