Jordin Sparks
Jordin Sparks lives in Glendale, Arizona with her parents and brother, PJ. Her father's nine seasons in the NFL exposed her to entertainment venues in many cities, and nurtured her love for music. So after his retirement and settling back in Phoenix, Jordin became involved in a local children's theater and began performing on stage at the age of twelve. Soon she was singing at other venues.

Says Jordin:
"I can’t remember a time when I didn’t like to sing! I was singing along to the radio even before I understood the meaning of words, and my family had a hard time keeping me quiet!
When we lived in New Jersey, my parents took me to see Broadway shows, and I loved it! I knew then that I wanted to perform on stage, and my first opportunities were singing about the Lord in church as a little kid. I’ve been singing ever since!"
When we vacationed in Estes Park in 2003, I got a chance to go to some concerts and GMA competitions. I decided at that time that I’d like to compete in 2004 when I became 14, and I did. I had such a great time at The Academy in Washington, D.C. and at the National Finals for Music In The Rockies!
I like to touch people’s hearts through my singing, and I especially want to send a positive message to kids my age. If they’re non-believers, I want them to know that God loves them, Jesus died for them, and that God has a plan for their life. I want them to see and hear that being a Christian and singing about it isn‘t weird! If they’re Christians, I want to encourage them to trust God, and to not be afraid to take a stand. I’m not sure what my future holds, but I know I’ll always sing. I want the Lord to guide me, and I want to do whatever He has planned for me.
